Hello folks, about to get my first mechanical keyboard~ yay :D
blues boards are a whole lot of satisfaction, and i want them so much~
just wondered if blue boards with o-rings will be quiet enough for typing in the office
don't wanna get someone angry~

O-rings only change the bottom out sound, the noise from blues come from the jumping bean thing in the stem so o-rings wouldn't change the amount of noise the switches make.

hmm~ i usually bottom our a lot (using a membrane keyboard right now...), will canceling the bottoming out noise make a big difference to the overall ?

if o-rings don't make big difference, i'll go with the browns~

IMHO it's not a big difference but I don't have one of those sound measuring devices. I assume most other people don't either which is why there isn't much response. Sorry. There are videos on youtube of people trying o-rings iirc. Let me check.... Maybe this helps? http://youtu.be/79rWQ-CU9Lw

Many people find that their typing style changes when they change to a keyboard with another type of switch, so you may not bottom out on this keyboard as much as before.
Bottoming out on the Cherry Blues does make a lot more noise than bottoming out on dampened Blues. I use dampened blues a lot, and my first Phantom (that I hope to be able to build soon ...) will have dampened blues too, but that is mostly because I don't like the noise of occasionally bottoming out Cherry switches, not because I have to avoid disturbing someone else.
I would select another switch for the office, though. People are so spoiled and sensitive these days. People did not use to complain about typewriter noise in my parents' generation, and that was a lot louder.

thx for the advice guys, i'll probably buy a blue board and test it in the office environment first, if it doesn't work out, then i'll use it at home, and place my membrane there~
