This is a simple AT-to-PS/2 converter. It's passive. Each pin from one end is simply connected to the corresponding pin at the other end.

with all these speculations it might even be an ADB connector. Though these look more like an S-VHS connector.

Sun connector has 8 pins. ADB has 4 pins and a block and the first gen pre-topre hhkb were available in adb. As far as I know there was never AT connection made on hhkb, so unless it was a previous owners mod from PS/2 to AT it is unlikely.

S-Video/ADB only has four pins. XT and AT have five. PS/2 has four or six depending on whether the two unused pins are present (they normally are, but someone found a keyboard where the redundant pins were left out).

it's definitely five pin. not four. customized. got the casing shell off of it. whether it will fit, remains to be seen.

i don't have a digital ps. just a phone. sorry

That almost looks like 270 degree DIN-5. What an odd connector to find.

Is the connector physically larger than a PS/2 connector?

See the second socket on the left — having seen that, and it does look more like it. No idea what it does, but there's a converter for it :-P

That's a 270 degree DIN 5-Pin. They can be found e.g. on 122-Key Terminal Model Fs. After looking more closely on the picture it really seems to be one of these. The 270° plugs I've encountered were really heavy duty, full-metal, with a screwring on. Looking on the second picture, that looks like full-metal with a screw ring.

The last pic shows it to be less than the width of the top of a keycap, which means it's probably mini-DIN sized.

True, but only 4 are needed for the keyboard, and they're all round the edge... maybe both +5V pins are present...

My google-fu does not extent to a pic of an actual HHKB for Sun connector :(

My eyes are garbage, but it doesn't look like this does it? (Not really a Sun connector)

Could you shine a flashlight into it when taking the photo, or hold it up facing a window?

And keep back from it – cameras can't focus up close (less than 30 cm/12 in or thereabouts) unless they have a macro mode.

daniel. the picture doesn't work. the pins sit at the bottom and with this phone theres nothing i can do...

one way to describe it- think ps/2 just slightly smaller.

is there a list with clear pictures (haha the pot calling the kettle black) so i can see all adapters that have been made so far.

heck. looking at it one more time, one of the six holes is empty. and probably one of the pins could have broken off

by Soarer
So it could be PS/2? Does it have the rectangular plastic pin in the middle? I suppose the question then is, which of the 6 pins is missing?
