Just wondering whether Futabas and the cross-shape SMKs are compatible with each other? They're both cross shaped, with a hole in the slider instead of in the keycap. I know that the Futaba keycap stem is a much smaller cross than the switch:

Never seen a cross-shape SMK keycap though.

I figured maybe we should call it "N" mount, if they are the same, as "n" and "u" are the inverse of each other ;-)

Ah yes I've got a Tulip keyboard with those.

I'm trying to find pictures clear enough to draw diagrams from. Surprised how well I did in the end with the Futaba switch as it's a complex shape. In time, once I've drawn enough diagrams (since I'm going to have to do this alone) we should start to get a clearer picture of what's out there. Everything so far:

Got a long, long, long, long, long way to go, especially as I'm working off badly lit, perspective skewed images — much easier if I have measurements to work from. The Monterey one isn't right, and the Omron Alps-like (which I doubt is Omron) is the best I can do from some very dark photos.

In the process of searching for pics, I'm finding more new switches than I've got time to do anything with them, mostly completely unidentifiable.
