Hi all,
My skidata is currently in use daily, but has developed a high pitched whine that is constant whilst it is powered on. It's a faint noise, but after a few hours it's enough to cause a headache. Any thoughts on what might cause it?
Whiny skidata, anyone want salvage?

I'm screwed for now then...
I start work at 8am and rarely switch off my laptop before 11pm through the week and need family time at weekends
I don't have soldering kit or know how to de/solder.

This noise could actually be emitted by the small "beeper" which is located in the middle of the pcb (the white round cylinder)
The sound when powering the keyboard is emitted by it as well.

Well o can't find the cause so harvested stems and springs and caps, transplanted into an 1800.
Any way for an engineering/technical dunce to rehouse and use the trackball?
Anyone want what's left for salvage?

Damn. An hour after I had pulled all the switches apart! Nevermind7bit wrote:Just remove the beeper should solve the problem then. It helps with Tipros as well.
