Re: Adapter to use Model M keycaps on Cherry MX stem?

Thank you for your suggestion!

I think what I might do in the end is get an old Cherry keyboard and harvest its key caps. I will wait a while, though, as it is possible that the keyboard won't materialise.

Adapter to use Model M keycaps on Cherry MX stem?

Has anyone ever made an adapter that allows you to use the top half of a two-part Model M keycap with a Cherry MX stem? I've pre-ordered the Input Club Keystone keyboard on Indiegogo, and while the keycaps that it comes with look nice, I'd prefer to use a spare set of Model M keycaps that I have if ...

Re: Where do you guys store your keyboards?

Two drawers and space behind one of the cabinets in my office. Not ideal, but it's enough for now (ten keyboards).

Re: Get the PITCHFORK key ready! Microsoft intends to molest the keyboard layouts again.

For business purposes, I was repeatedly offered a Windows phone or laptop or tablet in the past 10 years. Free stuff, IF I did something else such as purchasing X or ordering Y. I never took up a single one of these offers and have no regrets. Free Windows devices usually are of minimal use. Paying...

Cool project!

On a completely unrelated note, are you using StartisBack, by any chance? If so, what skin is it that you are using? Its interpretation of the Windows XP task bar looks very accurate.

There should be a label inside the board with more information about the make of Model M. You'll need a somewhat uncommon type of screwdriver, though.

I personally use this one for my Model Ms:

That sounds a bit like my experience when I use my older IBM mice. I love how they 'whirr' over the surface of my desk.

Hey guys,

Slightly OT, but there is someone selling Scrollpoint pro mice on E-Bay right now. Just look for 'IBM Scrollpoint'.

They're about four euros each. Postage is a bit expensive if you live outside of the States, though.

What about an IBM Scrollpoint Pro ( http://www.ibmfiles.com/pages/scrollpoint.htm ) ? It's the first mouse that fits in my rather large* hands and built like an armored rodent that's clicky too. Yes, there's a mod you can do, but it involves disassembling the keyboard:

What I personally do when I type on my model f is put a few small weights on the spacebar, which I find helps.

Hydrogen peroxide is a bleach, so it will make the stems white whether they ever were white or not. Also, UV is not required, and possibly will make them turn yellow again faster if they are exposed to heavy UV during the whitening process. All that is required to activate peroxide is heat. 120f-18...
