Someone put a black IBM sticker over the original inset metal IBM personal computer badge. If you look closely, the black sticker is crooked. The left edge is slightly lower than the right. Check if the black sticker is flush with the silver badge.

With a keyboard that is this damaged, it is unreasonable to expect a customer to tear apart their whole keyboard, examine each piece and reassemble them. Not many people have the time, patience and skill to do this. Even if they could, they might not be able to differentiate between a good part and ...

Slim chance, but anyone know what this is? I can't find anything on the brand, and the keyboard looks very generic. Seller doesn't know anything so can't help me. I'm expecting it to be rubber dome.

EDIT: the seller sent me this, looks like some kind of white ALPS variant?

I just wonder if materials used in modern products (of course not only keyboards) are still good enough.
Rubber domes in the early 2000s and now are still using pretty much the same materials. The design is already so optimized there is not much more that can be taken out.

The lifetime count is the average number of presses until the keyswitch no longer actuates. Even if the keyfeel is scratchy, loses the click, or loses the tactile feel.

I believe that "new model f Labs LLC" cannot legally sell in Europe:

There are cases where the manufacturer's warranty is more limited than the country's consumer laws. In that ...

There is technically nothing wrong with Ellipse's actions from a legal standpoint. He is within his full right to treat this knowledge as trade secret. However, this behaviour is selfish because after all production runs of the keyboards are done, the molds and machinery will be destroyed. This ...

Capacitive leaf switch from ITW
I didn't know ITW made capacitive leaf switches that look like the ones made by Digitran. I also haven't seen a capacitive variant of the Xerox 820 II keyboard.
The ITW variant has a different key stem and the tip of the metal leaf is embossed.

Some apps have a dark mode (dark grey) and an AMOLED dark mode (black). Dark grey themes are preferable because grey to grey transitions are faster and less smeary than white to black.

There are lots of IBM compatible keyboard that use non-IBM switches such as Honeywell SD and Keytronic foam and foil switches.
