Re: Tektronix UTek Spanish layout ALPS Green - What to do?
… It's a Tektronix 119-2696-03 (Spanish keyboard layout) and fun to see that it has no @ symbol on any of the keycaps. Of course we don't need that symbol in UTek UNIX! :-) The layout is a close copy(*) of the common Spanish (Spain) layout, which places a few symbols in the tertiary layer and seem ...

Two 2U Enter keys, one on top of another (plus other not as obvious signs)? Sorry, but this reminds me very much of a certain past thread...

Re: Soooo. What's the age of this Model M 122?
Looks to me like the keyboard was indeed made in 1992, but at some point it was serviced and the entire innards (including the keycaps as well) were replaced with whatever available part there was (1394177 is a P/N for the plate, not a keyboard).

Re: NEC SKCC Keyboard and Ortek MCK-104Pro
Those keycaps seem to be a sort of "Western European" adapter set, with replacements for a select few keys on a limited amount of national layouts (Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, etc.; weirdly, Dutch looks to be supported ("IJ")). Some of the keycaps (ç/¿ and ß/` in particular) make it rather...

If you really enjoyed the Model M, then get another Model M — all others are a step below it (... except for IBM Model F keyboards).

Re: Great/Interesting Finds
Yeah, they were cheap until that nos supply ran out. The thing is, the "NOS supply" ran out a couple times, before Mendehlson put out new batches. Also, for a long time, the Japanese keyboards weren't available, with only Chinese units for sale, until a "fresh" batch showed up (this happened twice)...

30 or 35 USD, depending on the batch, with not that high of a shipping (depending on one's location; in one purchase I even got free shipping).

[...] Yes, but that key's placement is surprisingly idiotic. Even Logitech does it better: I disagree, with the placement like this there's just an additional key available while the whole FN row stays the same. The way Logitech did it shifted the whole FN row to the left. ... but it keeps a separa...

Indeed, but (AFAIK) Cherry hasn't said "these are the only varieties we'll be producing in this line of keyboards". If they indeed have, that does change things.Findecanor wrote: ↑27 Sep 2020, 19:53There are only US-ANSI and Korean ANSI in the datasheet linked in the OP.

Federal units, then?
(because at this point, only a single federation insists on keepin' them)

…… Jokes aside, I find the "Space Cadet" thing to be a bit... foreign... to IBM keyboards. YMMV. I know, it's just a color combination I really like, as said, the original blueprint from the model f manual was just cool for the t-shirts, but couldn't help to try something weird on it. The color com...

I mean... remember that a NOS Unsaver with APL keycaps went for 2000 USD? If the highest bidder was NOT a troll, then he must be mentally ill in another fashion (or so incredibly rich that two grand is spare change for him or her).

Fnhanced kfyboard? I'm in!
I bet terminal Model M keyboards will be ideal "donor" boards, so that begs the issue of ensuring the necessary recabling and whatnot is considered as an integral (or at least, a close-to-core option) part of the project.
