Re: Any cheap way to make or order a switchplate?

Assuming you're talking keyboard plates, and not contact plates: I recently ordered some plates from Laserboost. They seemed like the cheapest for a metal plate for me as a canadian. Two stainless tkl plates cost about 35€ each plus 14€ shipping. I downloaded dxf files from KLE, uploaded them to la...

Re: A Comparison of SSKs

As promised: pictures of both my SSK keyboards, front and back (green BIC for reference). IMG_6720_th.jpg IMG_6722_th.jpg The above was ANSI and I had it converted to ISO. It came with 1-piece keycaps (which are safely stored); the replacement set is composed of Unicomp blanks (plus the two HRI keyc...

Re: A Comparison of SSKs

Woah. Unicomp even retained the IBM part number on this (1394047). Had I known back then, I wouldn't have scoured for SSKs on eBay in the first place! (ok, who are we kidding, I'd have bought at Unicomp AND scoured on eBay, too).

wri63nwovqk21.jpg One of the most unique ssks next to the displaywrite IMO. Wanted to sell it originally, but I fell in love with it for some reason(story of my life), and has been my daily driver ever since although I own more expensive and subjectively "better" keyboards. Re: Some of my best finds from Computer Reset

No, those weren't NIB, but I seem to remember they were in great condition, and it was a LARGE lot of them (more than 100, IIRC). I still haven't found the GH thread. Well 100 is hard to beat  $150 is definitely not what I'm gonna price them at, I think the OG box and sealed cable adds value t...

Just HOW MANY SSKs and SABRE Model M keyboards are you going to keep on finding?????????? At some point, the envy I feel is going to cease being of the healthy kind. Regarding the NOS F XT with the cut cable: Orihalcon or someone else who has opened up F XT units before, please confirm that those "loose" cables (those numbering 50-ish in an earlier post) are indeed the correct ones for it. They are Model F AT cables. Too bad. A friend of mine has an F XT with a...

I've more than once joked that procuring several 5140s to make a couple full size or TKL keyboards would also yield enough of the F keys (and their switches) to do a "small 60%" for kicks (for kids, whatever). Redmaus might now be in a position to do just that.

I had a Wheelwriter with pretty much the same keycaps. Maybe this thing was adapted to be used with some kind hybrid between a typewriter and a computer. I put them on myself, harvested from a dead Wheelwriter module Both the alpha keys with green sublegends (easy to come by) and the keys with blue...

The above said, the OCD git that I truly am (but more or less hide) says that a "perfect" kit would include all the mods, so one could use only the alphas (or alpha-colored keys) from an old keyboard and thus avoid having mods that differ by a slight tone. Of course, that would be quite some more ke...
