I did notice they looked like a SKCC stem, but wasn't sure. All I have to compare them with are MX style. There is a possibility I'll have these, plus another keyboard. If they are not useful to anyone but C64 users, I'll just pass them on to those guys

Are the Commodore key caps usable on anything other than the breadbox? I have some spares that came with a bunch of Commodore stuff I recently scored

Funny the original switches are Japanese. My Omrons in my Logitech M570 were chinesium.

I've only seen too variations in actuation force in D2Fs; 75 and 150g.

Looks like you might have got up to 14% or a little higher with the mixture you used. I don't know if 2% in solution is going to make that much of a difference.

I've also seen successful attempts with less than 14%, as distilled water is added to cover parts (liquid), rather than a creme.

Which source is closest to primary? Not Apple. I would trust a translated Alps catalog before anything a technical writer at Apple interpreted, from whatever source.

Its fairly straight forward. Having not done a keyboard, I was a bit intimidated. Once I figured out exactly how the switch plate/switch/PCB all mesh together, its not such a mystery.

From case removal to separation took two hours. Would have taken about fifteen minutes less if 20% of the pins ...

If the damage was greater, of course I would repair. Since no more than a pin width of trace was lifted (about 10% of pad total area), I'm not too worried about it. Most of the 5 pads affected do not even look damaged.

My main concern now is finding one small stupid stabilizer mount....

After some thought, I think I'm going to follow //gainsborough's lead and paint the back plate a color from the label. Its a dark gray, similar to the same dark silver/gray used in many electronics. Didn't have my good camera, so the colors are off a bit

I've never pulled the wires out of mine even on extremely tight keys. I have a WASD, Varmilo, and Keycool as well as a bunch of plastic ones.

I have bad luck? I don't remember where they came from, but one is super old and the other was off either eBay or Amazon.

I used a similar method with two plastic spudgers. Works fine, but you do occasionally have to put pressure on an adjacent slider.
