Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Did anybody else have their keyboard function without any problem on QMK for months and suddenly it starts to put out the wrong letters or double letters (i.e. wrong codes). Happened out of the blue. No changes in the setup. Any ideas how to best troubleshoot this?

@warty I think that's a great idea! Pandrew is already working on something like that. Perhaps get in touch with him so he can give you access to the work in progress and you can make comments / expand the doc?

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
@warty I have set it up the QMK build environment on macOS and flashed both a F62 and an F77 successfully. Happy to help. Can you post a quick guide here? I‘d like to add it to the technical reference I am working on. Pandrew is working on a guide (I wanted to contribute to it but didn't have the t...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Regarding the cursor placement, I have also remapped the bottom right modifier group to act as cursor cluster when the keys are pressed on their own, and as standard modifiers (shift, super, alt, control) when pressed together with other keys. I'm not sure if the stock remapping tool can do this, b...

@troglotype: Regarding spacebar rattle on the F62, I did several things, and the rattle has disappeared. Not sure which of these items worked or if it is the combination: + Put strips of self-adhesive rubber inside the spacebar. I used strips intended as non-skid feet for the undersides of various ...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I am having some trouble with the Unicomp keys I'm using. I'm using brand-new keys from an Ultra Classic, and am having issues with Enter, both Shifts, and - oddly enough since it's not stabilized - Caps Lock. They get stuck in the down position. I had the same problem with the F62. Unicomp Enter a...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I will try to find some time over the weekend to do that. By the way, the powder-coating finishes of the F62 and the F77 are very different (and so are the USB cables). Was this on purpose or are the keyboards I got just two different iterations?

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
I wanted to share a recent, thorough blog review of a new Model F F77 Keyboard with great photos: http://ryan.abel.space/blog/model-f-keyboard-review Indeed - very enjoyable. I agree with the author - I cannot think of a better board than an ergo-split (not separated) F-62/77 board. Preferably with...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
The F62 and F77 I had bought some while back have arrived safely. Ellipse, these boards are absolutely amazing! Only minor blemishes on the case of the F62. Everything else is just perfect. So far, I only had time to use the F62. It has a few buzzing keys (will have to tweak the springs a bit). I pu...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
And yes, they were available contemporaneously. Well, not really available, but they were contemporaneous. I imagine IBM wouldn't sell you a 4704 if you weren't a bank. I believe the Model F XT (before it was the XT, shipping with the 5150) would have been available over a year before the 4704 was ...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Again for everyone I will reiterate that each keyboard will only go out after my QC process and the keyboards will take as long as they need to be done the right way. My current expectation is about six months more for all prior orders. I am happy to wait for another year if this gives you the time...

I usually take all of the stabilizers out while I wire brush and repaint, then put them back in place after Out of curiosity: Is it possible to take out the stabilizer clips without damaging to the back of the barrel plate? On the keyboard I was restoring, the feet of the clips are "melted" in plac...

That's a good idea but I'm not quite sure how they stay in place. Also would be quite expensive to do something like a Model F AT. Yes, that's the reason I made every effort NOT to damage them. In my case, sourcing replacements would take much more time (and funds) than using a slow and non-invasiv...

It is all vastly easier when you remove the plastic clips and clean them separately, but it is inevitable that you will damage 5%-10% of them, so it is a risk if you don't have spares. I completely agree. Because this is my first restoration and I lack spare clips, I wanted to play it safe. It's th...
