Re: Alps Appreciation

So, few days ago i manage to buy 2 keyboards, one of them was Fame TH-5539-5 with genuine skcm pine alps switches. All i found was 5539-5 were found only with clones or aruz switches so there it is. It's also really early model, no.0004157. https://i.imgur.com/v5aW5Gx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/cDaLKLt...

If you're looking specifically for an Alps ANSI keyboard, that's easy: Dell AT101, but that doesn't have double-shots.
First models (old logo) has alps doubleshots, even with color legends.

Bought today for quite cheap. C.ITOH CIT324/CIT324E with polish sublegends. Sadly it apears to be non convertable in easy way.
But man, what a fantastic feeling.

I would think that something like that, but with plastic studs for the pivot wouldn't bee too difficult to do, and would hopefully smoother than an all metal part.
It's actually interesting, because they are insanely smooth. I need model f to compare but it's definitely better than model m.

If you want to check the integrity of the most suspicious components, check the capacitors continuity, you shouldn't be able ro read anything.

I've just seen this in sale. According to the seller is a Datamax At/xt keyboard model 71018 but I can't find any information about it. The whole area next to arrow keys is really weird. Do you know what kind of switches are these? https://i.imgur.com/MZYLvKy.jpg KPT like black switches for sure

Hello. If you can provide info about the keyboard model we might be able to find more information. Anyways, I will try to give you some help. At first, always the bigger and more robust trace in almost any circuit is GND, from what I see in your picture you should follow this trace: https://media.d...

Not as bad as it looks. There is ton of dust inside them but after deep clean they feel just like alps without lube. Clickleafs are in really good condition.
