PSA: There are several new apps/services that might help the payments process. For example, Revolut and Transferwise Borderless provide something like global virtual bank accounts. So if you are based in Europe, you can get your own US domestic routing/account number. Which means you can send and re...

It only sends the count of how many times each key is pressed, and not the actual keys. It is still a violation of privacy, but not as bad as the clickbait headlines suggest.

I don't think a material like PBT deforms at random. Surely there are factors that cause the deformation, which can be controlled. It is not clear why they can't be controlled, or controlled in a cost-effective way. It is strange that an expensive high-end product like a Topre keyboard can't ship wi...

I hear this excuse all the time, but it doesn't make any sense to me. Why should shrinkage affect the ability to produce large PBT keys? Surely manufacturers can simply account for the shrinkage in their measurements. If the underlying reason is, as I suspect, that the shrinkage is random and unpred...

So much of contractual agreements is about the intent of the parties, not the literal wording. Which is why I think the amendment clause is a red herring in this case. Based only on what has been made public, it seems like Massdrop was happy for Input Club to sell the switches in the I:C shop, and p...

I'd love to stand up for the little guy... But in this case I haven't seen any evidence of wrongdoing from Massdrop. I don't personally use any of the right hand modifier keys, including Shift. However I note that ISO users will make heavy use of the right "Alt Gr". And many touch typists will make use of the right Shift, as that is a recommended technique. And yet, I wonder about left-handed people... Whether the...

What you might need to know about modern Linux users is that most of them have adapted to use the standard PC layout, and they like to remap keys. Most Linux programs make use of Control and Alt, and so they are required. As for the Super (Windows) key, it is mainly reserved to control graphical des...

The "Delete" key above the Return key is like a "Backspace" key on PC. It refers to "Backwards Delete", not forwards delete like on a PC keyboard. Do you mean on the HHKB or the Sun Type 3? Linux started life as an effort to get UNIX working on commodity PC hardware, including standard PC keyboards. UNIX applications made use of keys that had no equivalent on IBM's keyboards.
