Because open source code is better

This is opinion not fact. I agree with you, but if you take any person without any knowledge or interest in (re-)programming then something closed-source that works out of the box is 100% better than anything open-source that needs tinkering to make it do ...

The good thing is I found out the Costar stabilizers are actually pretty forgiving.

Indeed, thats what i found when making my own stabi's. The most important thing is that everything is right angled, parallel and straight, half a mm too long doesnt really matter. I do really love your tool tho ...

Basically all keycaps from Cherry MX Swichtes would fit.

As long as you're talking bout the small 1x1 caps (aka alphanumerals). Everything larger COULD get tricky (shift, space, enter, caps, ctrl, alt etc). Also keep in mind that there's different profiles on different rows so if you find a funny ...

Oh that looks alot like the tool i use, only mine is longer so i can press the ends of the 'handles' up against each other without over bending (and possibly breaking) the plastic housing top.

Its a non-functional issue really.... If it annoys you just shave it off with a little x-acto knife yourself.Like said, you get what you pay for.

Well.... how i plan on doing this is quite simple actually; Ill just grab a really really big pan with water (more mass = more stable temperature when adding anything cold) and ill place a glass beaker with the dye solution inside that aka au baine-marie. The beaker will be on a little tripod inside ...

Just boil clean ol tap-water on the regular stove (wives will let you do that most of the time) and then take the boiled water somewhere else to add the dye and play with it ;)

Np, but really keep an eye out for the vacuum cleaner not sucking up any parts or caps.... having to dig that kind of stuff out of a bag full of dust n crap really sucks cuz for some reason itll always fly straight to the bottom (trust me on that, i do this kind of thing on quite a regular basis)

Could be dirt in the switch.... Remove the cap (and surrounding caps), press the stem down with a toothpick or something like that and while doing that put the vacuum cleaner on there for a couple seconds. If the switches are pcb mounted be careful that you dont suck the top of the switch straight ...
