Costar Stabilizers

I recently took apart a 104-key Filco keyboard for cleaning and keycap changing and just now noticed that one of the costar stabilizers is shorter than all of the others. Is this intentional and if so which key is supposed to use the shorter stabilizer?

I'd take a look at all the stabilised caps. It will be matched by their stab mounts.

Well, if you still have the caps you took off it.

My own Filco doesn't have any funny-business going on with stab sizes, as I recall, but it is just tenkeyless. Maybe this is a vertical stabiliser thing.

The short one usually goes in the upper mount of either the + or Enter key on the numpad. At least on keyboards with Cherry profile keycaps, the top of one of those keycaps is very short, but I don't have one handy to check which one it is. That's not the case with the OEM keycaps that Filco keyboards come with, though. Those keycaps are all tall enough for full height inserts, so who knows why they would've used a short stabilizer insert. Maybe their supplier just includes one in every set.
