Following on from the discovery of the Alps SKCM Cream switch (part number SKCMAF), and Daemon Raccoon's confirmation that it exists in her funky typewriter keyboard, I've given it a wiki page:

[wiki]Alps SKCM Cream[/wiki]

So, at the moment we have:
  • [wiki]Alps SKCM Cream[/wiki] — tactile, contemporary with and identical spec to blue Alps except it's not clicky
  • [wiki]Alps SKCM Cream Damped[/wiki] — the one from the AEK II, which can be found with both cream and white sliders, and I don't know if that indicates two separate specifications or simply missing pigmentation; Sandy may be able to answer this as white damped seems to be more common in the Far East than the West
  • Alps SKCL Cream or Alps SKCL Space Cream — stiffer switch for space bar, with an unknown relationship to the grey equivalent, Alps SKCL Space Grey or Alps SKCL Grey (I am not sure whether to include "Space" in the names or not, as so far, I don't know of a regular linear (SKCL) grey or cream, but that could change and then you've got a problem)
(SKCL is linear or lock; SKCM is tactile including clicky. You can pretend C is for "complicated"; simplified Alps used a B (as if for "basic") instead: SKBL/SKBM.)

Most switches are up now:

There are still a few missing, including hasu's superstiffy grey linears (Alps SKCL Heavy Grey?), Sandy's stiffy blues, white damped (not sure on these yet).

I always add water to my Alps switches before I use them. Makes them rust faster. :P
