How to print stickers to try new layouts? Which paper/film?

I have a keyboard with blank gray keycaps and I would like to try out some unusual layouts and graphics. Basically I want to try a custom layout before ordering from WASD.

Has anybody printed legends on stickers? On which paper/film?

I had a look around but I could not find a film that is

• printable with an inkjet printer,
• big enough (A4),
• clear/transparent,
• removable.

Any suggestion?

Thanks for the link, but the description of this product says "Permanent adhesive (removable for a few days depending on application)". Other kinds of adesive paper have the same warning. Is that real or just an exageration?

there's not such a thing as "permanent adhesive"

For something like this waterslide decal is perfect. It only shows the graphic, and they are easy enough to remove or just let wear off. They also don't effect the key feeling very much like a paper sticker would. If you want something more long lasting you could put them on the side of the key instead of the tops.
You can probably find some waterslide inkjet paper easy enough from somewhere that does hobby model kits (cars, planes, etc).

Very often stickers on plastic left for long time seem to change the plastic. Some component in the glue somehow reacts. At least I personally very often can not clean after removing a sticker (sometimes even price tag) - the area on the plastic remains smudgy.

Anyone know tricks about this?
