Likely price? And what's the controller? A non-programmable, non-replaceable, non-convertible USB keyboard isn't worth a premium to me with all those strings attached.

Programmable controllers aren't very interesting in a TKL-sized keyboard. Some DIP switches to swap ctrl with caps lock, alt with super would be nice, but not a deal-breaker either way for me.

Bone headed media layers can be a real drag though. What sort of bottom row do they have in mind? Speaking from the typical (in MX land) 1.25, 1.25, 1.25, 6.25, 1.25, 1.25, 1.25, 1.25u layout, that "extra" mod on the right is way better when reported to the host, instead of hijacked as a hard wired function key and never exposed.

And then there's my standard grumble about HHKB style right Shift, which, yes, isn't make or break on a TKL but still! This all factors into the price calculation for some of us.

Oh, and classic Alps layouts compatibility too, of course!

I want to see a Kingsaver kit with nice keys and without switches for $100.

I might be interested in a V80 with Matias click or Matias silent switches. Here are the characteristics I would prefer:

+ No backlighting except on-case red LEDs for CapsLock and, if there were an embedded
numeric keypad, a NumLock.

+ Programmable controller or DIP switch settings for the following:

-- Swap Backspace and Backslash.
-- Set CapsLock = Control.
-- Remappable Fn key or swap Fn and Menu.
-- Swap Win and Alt (to make Opt and Command for Mac).

+ Availability of dye-sub PBT keycaps.

However, I am actually more interested in a V60 keyboard (60%) with the above characteristics than a V80 keyboard.

Yes price "region" would be good to know. Matias mini is a pretty strong competition.

Ask a simple question, get an array of nuanced answers!

The trouble is it really does depend. I'd like a little Alps board, too, but I'm price sensitive and being here in Europe it's tough for them to get anything to us which won't be premium priced. So then I start getting into the nitty gritty of customisability. Precisely the kind of stuff that increases a board's cost, and puts off manufactures in the first place. They want simple, they want just one thing, and for lots of people to buy it.

Speaking of which: what's the word on ISO?
