I was searching for an Intellimouse 1.1a mouse since mine is getting very tired already (almost 15 years old and still kicking, except mouse1 is double clicking sometimes).
So as I was searching I stumbled upon this ad where the seller was offering 50€ for a bunch of keyboards, games and a hard-drive. One of the keyboards caught my eye since it looked pretty big and something told me it could be a nice find. I found out it would be one of my best purchases I've ever done.

I bought this keyboard, a Microsoft one with a mouse (wireless pack) and another cheap rubber dome for, wait for it, 25€ including postage.

It's my first mechanical keyboard. I never tried one but it feels AMAZING! All keys are working (some of them feel like they get stuck but I guess with some dirt cleaning I can fix it)

I would like to share some pictures of it. Looks pretty dirty, but I will clean and take care of it with much love! :)

I've googled the model number but I couldn't find anything. (G81-3410LPNPO)

This is a Cherry keyboard made for Peacock. The model number tells you a lot. Cherry MY switches (most people hate them) lasered caps. People do prize these cases though. I think… I'm more into IBM.

Try renaming the thread to that code. Titles like this make my eyebrows twitch!

You're welcome. Have fun!

The first thing I'd do with that board is pull the caps off and give them a wash. They slide off quite easily once you get the hang of it. The larger keys like the spacebar also have stabilisers, so take a bit more skill. Cleaning is simple enough, just wash them up by hand with soapy water and leave them all a good long time to dry. A small brush will help for getting fluff out the board itself.

Alright, thanks a lot of the tips. I appreciate that!

After I clean it I'll post some more photos!

My preferred method of cleaning keycaps is to give them a warm bath with denture tabs for a few hours, rinse them, give them a few spins in a salad spinner and let them dry.

Interesting method, I wash mine just with soap and rub then the dirt from every single keycap with a towel.
