Features:
- Cherry MX with in-switch diodes or LEDs
- Cherry M9 for 2 circuits (2nd circuit must be hand-wired)

What do you mean "clip together"?


Except for switches with fixing pins, you would need a frame anyway, or have to use glue.


The PCB comes with holes in each corner which can be used to fix it to some backplate.

To avoid hand-wiring a matrix with flying diodes and wire and allowing easy use of LEDs for bling!

I think I will make a separate PCB for M8 and M9 switches.

An illumination option for Alps?

It's always nice to see some Alps love. I can't wait to see how this turns out, so I'll definitely be following along!

Naive question: Will Matias switches work with this plan? With Matias, could you have the LED inside the switch?

Matias switches are a clone of the Alps simplified switches and dimensionally, they are virtually identical.

The LED would be mounted to the PCB, next to the switch. Since the switch housing is clear, light from the LED would shine straight through.

Ugh. I'll have to photograph my own loose Monterey switch next to an Alps to be able to tell. That picture is of the empty shell (of two switches…) so it's quite misleading.

Unfortunately, it's candlelight dark here today. WInter's breathing down Scotland's collar, right on time.

We don't even know what "SMK Alps Mount" / "Montereys" were really called. Let alone the spec!

I'll try to measure mine up. I've got a loose switch, and a whole keyboard full of them. The PCB should be informative.
