you are in the mid 1980s and computers are in a very strange place. personal computers had not quite caught on yet & the idea of having a personal computer in your home is a foreign concept to most people

most people at this time understood computers as extremely large and expensive mainframes that resided exclusively at businesses to be used for professional and commercial purposes.
Too much bullshit. IBM PC, home computers such as the C64 and ZX Spectrum selling millions, Amiga coming.
