The great HaaTa was kind enough to share force curves from his 50g and 70g prototypes! Sorry HaaTa, I've been sitting on these since December 5th. This is the first chance to post them I've had.

Some fascinating finds here:
* The 50g has 20g of preload and only hits 45g. Very light!
* The 70g has almost no preload and bottoms out at 65g.
* Both force curves have zero or negligible hysteresis since there is no switch action.

Thanks HaaTa!

Thanks! Data like this excites my engineer pleasure centers :) The graph seems to backup the perceived "smoothness". Do you know what the activation point is for these (forgive me if has already be stated).

No worries. Activation should be right around 1.8-2.0 mm.

Nice plots! I'm hoping the future tactile version will have a curve somewhat like a Model F.

How are the tactile versions being implemented? Cherry MX style? or something like leaf springs? or domes? or___?

Leaf springs, tiny ones. Similar to Alps in a way.

More like... Razer mecha membrane!

Edit: seriously, though. If you take the dome out I imagine the implementation is quite similar.

As horrible as the Razer switch is, that's exactly the right idea.

Wow, lighter than I expected. I love the potential smoothness, though. Looks very promising.

Thanks for the info @XMIT! Can't wait to get my bamboo 60% from your GB, especially since I finally got to try out some linear switches & found I do like the heavier variants. The force curve for the 70g springs surprised me a bit as I was thinking they would have a heavier feel but from the chart they look to be comparable to Cherry Blacks, maybe a tiny bit lighter. I think that will end up being a good weighting for me, but I would love to see an even heavier spring available now that I've seen the force curves for the 50g & 70g springs. I think an 85g spring option would be awesome for the heavy handers out there like me.
