Yes, correct.

By now I've used keyboards of SO many different layouts and form factors that I just adapt to what I'm using. I mean from XT to HHKB and everything in between I eventually managed to work with all of them. That said my preferred layout is still fullsize UK ISO.

I use a typematrix on the go, and I'd rather use my old Silitek SK-6000 than almost any unmodified standard ANSI/ISO (full-size/tenkeyless) keyboard.

It's not about some silly difference in Enter shape. It's about hand separation (which has direct impact on wrist strain) and modifier positions (that have direct impact on finger/thumb strain).

Because I finally have a couple of good pointing devices, that I can use left-handed, I'm not too concerned about width of standard keyboards anymore, but it's still something I have on my mind.
Right, I hear you - but if I'm not personally concerned with hand separation etc. and I am ok with the mainstream keyboard layout - then it's normal that I'm more concerned with the switches, since the chance that somebody would force me to type on a Plank, or Ergodox, is very very close to zero ... I re-find what I already knew - different people value different things ... differently :) and I'm very glad it is like that!

Perhaps there are more users on DT like Chyros who are willing to adapt to different layouts, and therefore there are not as many harvesters (who adapt caps and switches to the layout / PCB / cases they prefer) here in DT?

Some layouts really could frustrate me "without ends" when I was trying to use them...

That's a very good point actually. I'm well-known to object taking cool old keyboards apart for the switches, but I don't mind layouts all that much - there must be a correlation there.

Didn't vote. For me all those is equally important. Keyboard needs to ballance out everything to have a perfect synergy.

The only things I don't care for are extra features like LEDs or fancy colours.

The layout is always good as long as it's standard, if not, it needs to be fully programmable (or it's HHKB which is as good as standard).
