HHKB feel variation

So I recently bought a used HHKB from Yahoo aucs. It's a A0 made in 2008, with a Pro2 case. Anyway, today I met up with scottc and we compared our HHKBs. His was a hypersphere-d A0 Pro1, from 2005. I was surprised that the domes felt way lighter than mine. Mine feels so stiff I wondered if they are actually 55g

I just measured the the switch by seeing how heavy it would take it make it accentuate by placing coins on top, and I got this: 69.5g for overcoming the bump, and 24g for letting it up....

I guess what I want to ask is: 1) Does anyone else have a Pro2 A0? 2) If I find this too heavy, will the new HHKBs be lighter?

The HHKB's tactility starts right at the top of the switch, if it has hypersphere rings it's possible that they have reduced the tactility and the overall weight of the switch due to the fact the domes will be partially depressed. I know my Novatouch feels a lot lighter and less tactile after installing ironed landing pads. It's either that or his domes have become more mushy overtime whereas yours have stiffened - both have been reported to happen. I don't have an A0, I have an A2 and it feels exactly how it should do in terms of key weighting though I'm wondering how long that will last before it stiffens or turns to mush.

Either way it kind of pisses me off that topre doesn't keep its feel for very long whereas IBM's that are going on 30+ years old still feel just as good as the day they were bought.

I find that since the bump is harsher, it's a matter of how good you can touch-type, because if you can then it's much easier to use. At this point getting a new HHKB would be too expensive for me, but I wonder how Type S feels, since I remember not liking it when trying it in a meetup.

I hazard a guess that tactility depends on how used the keyboard is? Just like your rubber/erasers, it will stiffen over time with neglect, while it will still be flexible if you use it.

Hypersphere's rings definitely change the feel of the Topre switches on regular sliders.
Got stock and hypersphered side by side and the silenced one is lighter and less tactile. Not by much, but still noticeable.

I don't really know how much weight I need to press a key on the stock one, but it's still pretty young, produced in 2015. Shouldn't have changed much yet.

I read somewhere that the rings included on the noppoo boards and the ones from KDBfans have less impact on tactility than Hypersphere rings. Not to mention Hypersphere rings are overpriced as all fuck.
