Friend has a Wyse PCE keyboard, looking for an adapter for the cable

My friend has a old wyse PCE keyboard with the terminal connector its part no is

840362-04

its has a terminal connector i think or a slightly modified one. He is looking for an adapter to use the keyboard on his pc

That is an odd connector that only Wyse used. I believe it is an "RJ14" but I may be wrong.

Soarer wrote some Wyse firmware specifi8cally, the normal Soarer firmware will not work with Wyse.

WYSE keyboards actually are good looking, while most people just look forward to harvest from them for the vintage MX black switches, it is nice to have such adapters actually readily available in affordable price.

I have to admit, if I had this board, it would be harvested instantly for the vintage blacks and flipped. At least someone is trying to preserve keyboard history xD

harvesting wyses isn't exactly destroying keyboard history... they are so dirt common that we will never run out of them. There is really no point in saving them. Any time you go on ebay, there is atleast 20-50 listings for wyse boards.

And in an ISO layout to boot, all those I've ever seen listed were ANSI. (Not that I've looked super hard, but still)

I once had almost 100 WYSE boards in all different layouts including ISO. I got them dirt cheap (I think around $650 for the whole lot). I actually converted one a few years ago but it just wasn't that special in my opinion.
