I got a g80 1800 on the cheap, and while I didnt plan to disassemble it, I sort of have to (lights for caps, num lock and scroll lock slid into the case due to meh packaging). Any ideas on how to open it? I can see the clips that hold it together, but I am wondering is there any screws on this thing hidden under the feet or something,...? Thanks :D I'll probably end up repainting it.

PS: Any cheap 1800 compatible caps recommendations? :)

G80-1800 boards don't use any screws, just be carefull with the clips and then you can open it easily.

nope, as simple as unclipping them and pulling the top case to the sky, e careful though as there is little clips in the case that can reak ut as far as I know they aren't really that important to the case (all of mine are roken and all of my 1800 work wonderfully !). so yeah as simple as unclipping the little tason the underside

Do you have a modern G80-1800 with 1u bottom row caps? That should be rather dificult to replace as it's a non standard layout, if it's a wkl bottom row you may already have very good caps (but a cap change is still difficult)

probably OG Cherry, GMK or something with a flat profile, although you'll have a hard time finding a 6u spacebar in any case if you have the winkey'd 1800

Sadly I have the one with windows keys, and no vintage blacks :( Its ISO german layout atm, even tho im an ISO user I deeply dislike the DE layout...

Still it feels good, I love my linears :D

Do you want to replace the original lasered caps, or was your keyboard without any caps at all?
If the latter, I could provide you with a DE, winkey, thin lasered set.
If the former, they are probably exactly what you already have

It has the cheap, lasered think caps. Very very very nasty haha  Still thanks for the offer ;)
Cant find anything on aliexpress (maybe I suck at searching).
