Cool and interesting design. The only things I wonder is how long the sensors are good for and it seems that something that relies this much on clean optics would be done for if anything spilled in it. Not the electronics but just getting the lenses and reflector bits cleaned.
Though that might be why they're basically hotswappable by design like you mentioned.

It seems quite robust, actually. The lifetime of the switches is >100 M cycles, and the optics are pretty well-shielded. They're clip-out and there's no metal parts other than the coil spring in them either, so you could even bathe them! xDSangdrax wrote: Cool and interesting design. Reminds me of the Bloody optical switches by A4Tech. I've wanted to try out one of those boards for quite awhile but can;t find one for a reasonable price.

They did a kickstarter, you can check their page. It took forever it seemed, I backed it and got a bunch of switches that I can't use because I didn't know they required surface mount detectors and light sources... On that note anyone want 80ish Wooting switches?
