Alps (Clone) Question

I currently have four or five keyboards with Alps clone switches. Three of the keyboards were so clean, both inside and out, that you could call them NOS. However, the keys were pretty stiff. However, after typing for a few days on two of these Alps clones, the stiffness has either diminished a lot (alps.tw Type T5) or gone away completely (alps.tw Type OA2).

Is this normal? I never had an Alps/Alps clone up until a couple months ago.
