In my sophomore year, I accidentally visit an old university computer warehouse and noticed a large, dirty, heavy keyboard with the inscription IBM Model M 1986.
I laundered, bought an adapter from OS / 2 to USB, and connected it to the computer - no problem, everything worked. After graduating from university, I left it in the dorm (why ?!), but I still think the Model M is the best keyboard I've worked on.
In general, it turned out that the keyboard is legendary and there is a community of fans around it. For example, the Model M is still used by Minecraft creator Markus Persson.
In the wake of nostalgia, I thought of ordering a Model M but came across modern mechanical keyboards. For example, Matias Mini Tactile Pro, which was inspired by the Apple Pro Keyboard. What keyboard do you use? Which one would you buy?

If you really enjoyed the Model M, then get another Model M — all others are a step below it (... except for IBM Model F keyboards).

Yes, if you don't mind a bit noise, get the Model M again. It's my favorite keyboard as well. I use others if I need a more silent alternative but I only feel at home with the Model M.

Personally I am a huge fan of the AT&T model Ms, if you can find one in good shape I highly recommend getting one. They are a bit hard to find so getting one that needs repair is iffy as replacement parts will be harder (specifically their springs are different and the springs are what makes them feel so nice)
