Model F Coloring

So I was looking to try to dye the case of my F122 an industrial color, the same as the one on the industrial Ms and SSKs, as part of my project to make a full industrial terminal IBM board. I looked into spray painting at first, as that is how I've done all my other case paintings, but to be honest it is probably the least durable option, and none of the shades I could find matched perfectly to IBM industrial. What I'm considering now is simply dying the top case, meaning I have much more control over the shade, and it will almost certainly never wear off. What I'm wondering now is how exactly to go about this process. The F122 has a different plastic than the M series, which from what I remember is some kind of PVC. What is the F122 plastic, and what would I look for to dye it?

I wouldn't attempt to dye the F122 case material

Any reason in particular? I suspect that the process involves heat somehow, but I don't think it would be enough to warp the case if I was careful.

I'm not sure what's on the F122 case but there's some sort of coating on it, I don't know if I would be comfortable trying to dye whatever it is though

Why don't you get a model M case first? I'm sure it will be a better idea

I actually was looking for one of the F122 compatible M cases with the holes for the feet, but they are pretty rare. I have the internal assembly for one, but proxied the case for a friend. I'm gonna try on the F122 case first, and then if all goes well apply the same process to M plastic test squares and then finally to a whole 1st gen M122 case.
