Custom caps mania

More and more this is looking like a custom keycap forum and not a keyboard forum. What's up with countless custom keycaps!? You can't put a bunch of pictures on keycaps, slap them on a keyboard and call it pretty. It ends up looking like hogwash!

I would say that people may be proud of their keycaps. Maybe they like sharing with the community. Maybe people might actually like looking at other peoples keycaps. To each his own.

I suppose it's all those GH refugees.. They get a bit more excited about custom keycaps than the regular DT crowd

I don't really mind full sets like the round3/4 or sixty's red alert. It's all those other single caps that are beginning to really annoy me. Like that nyan cat...

If you can lay your hands on a windowed orange 'prog' key from a G80-032x let me know that I'd like to see on a board!

But a triforce, nayun cat, poker mod with a function row filled with randomness, looks stupid. I count myself guilty of doing it too. I ruined a G80-2551!

I'm in the process of designing my own, but just with symbols/legends I actually need, and in Cherry vintage-like black on ivory and for sure not in fancy colours

It's like some DT members snatch each single opportunity to post a skit of GHers being shallow, whilst some GH members sniff each post for presumed hostility and post it - the whole thing is really annoying, more than the topics itself.

I know this is for illustration purposes but the thought occured to me: this keyboard looks like a parrot's arse

as in: "ride in style" rather than just slap all the uniqueness together one can accumulate.
imo DT goes very well with the temporary etxra colour specialty caps bring to the party, it will be gone soon enough..

Well, they feel the hollow nose I bet.
Honestly, what I haven't come across often, but is very much of interest (to me specifically, but actually to all), is what suka did, and probably a lot of us have fooled around with as well; actually using the key profiles.
Lemme snap a pic, and I know, even with so few differing caps it's already started looking quite shite; but it feels good+natural!:

Wasn't being a smartass.. someone asked "what was up" with all the keycap threads. I just replied. Have/had a GH account too and rocking some novelty caps too.
