Backlit Jelly Keycaps?

Hey guys,

I recently got a backlit keyboard with cherry switches. The keycaps that came with it are ABS, and I'm really missing the PBT keycaps on my other keyboard. I would switch the caps, but then having a backlight would be pointless.

I remember seeing the KBC POM rainbow jelly keycaps a while ago, and I think these are it:

Does anyone have a picture of what these look like with a backlight? Also, does anyone know where I can find translucent PBT (does that even exist?) or PBT caps with the letters clear?

Translucent pbt keycaps doesn't exist. If you were to go with the thin white KBC cap with dyesub legend that look pretty good. Keys light up evenly and gives a sort of paper lantern look. I saw someone use them on a Ducky shine with white led and it looked pretty nice.

Look at Deck keycaps. I haven't verified it myself, but the wiki's said they were PBT.

I've always wanted a set.

Also, I didn't think KBC did dyesub legends, but lasered PBT should look nice, as long as it's thin. This has been done in the past, and from the picture, looked pretty good, I thought. Even white SP PBT (from the first portal GB) is really too thick.

Well not sure if is specifically KBC brand but they are defineatly the exact same keycaps, same factory or whatever. I know imsto has and qtan does sell them thin style with dyesubs legend.

If you can wait a few days until Ive dug my tg3 out of the box in back of my hobby shelf I can take pictures of a jelly set on red LED backlighting for you. Please send me a PM on monday to remind me, I'm very busy on the weekend and I will most likely forget if you dont help me remember.

Awesome! Thanks for the responses guys.

I'm not sure how I feel about the font on the Deck keyboards. I also couldn't find if they sell them separately.

Do you guys have more information about the thin PBT? Where I can get them and/or pictures of them backlit? I tried searching for pictures of them to no avail.

Thanks for offering, Ascaii! Can you tell that they are lit? Or are they rather solid?

I have a KBT Race, but some of the caps are non standard, so I think that I would end up replacing the 33? keys, but I'm a bit worried about how the light will come through if I mix the caps. Or, if there's a way to replace all the non-standard caps, that would be great too.

@lysol: Ahh, those look nice! I don't see them being marked as thin anywhere on the page, but they look like KBC caps

@ guilleguillaume: Thanks for the pictures!
