I've got a Zenith/G80-1500 keyboard: vintage MX Blacks, electronic click/bip. It's a great keyboard, very sturdy.
Some months ago, I bought a G80-1000 with MX Blues from Tarkoon. When I received the parcel I was a little bit disappointed. I first thought the parcel was empty because it was so light ....
Compared to my Zenith, the Cherry seems very flimsy and the plastic squeaks. I finally found the difference: in the Zenith keyboard, there's a metal bar screwed on the bottom of the case. This bar makes the keyboard heavier and prevents the plastic to squeaks.
So my question is: is the bar missing on my Cherry, or it was added to the Zenith keyboards?
Question for the G80-1500/G80-1000 owners

Metal bar would have been something previous owner might have added, or maybe something extra Zenith had added, Cherry generally doesn't use metal at all in G80. I have seen several people use the metal plates from equivalent G81 after removing all the switch as a bottom weight for G80 under pcb. These types of things seem to be somewhat common mods as some G80 can flex quite a lot without doing something like this.

From Ceesa's picture, you can see where the metal bar is screwed (that is: between the two horizontal separators.)
If you don't put anything here, there're three unused screw holes (2 it cut case), so I guess the case is designed to received something here.
