...or maybe i need a break from keyboards altogether
the box where the board was shipped, specifies it's an mx red and yet the switch is brown in color.
but that brown switch is not the brown found on das keyboards, for example.
(the keyboard label on the back of the board reads "tactile" but i beg to differ)
did cherry corp changed mx switches' colors that noppoo got?

Browns are described by Cherry as tactile, press the switch half way and there is a little bump (feels like a red with grit in it), that's the tactility. It's a very light bump and if you're typing quickly it's barely noticable (especially on plate mounted boards I found), slowly press the key and you should feel it.
You've probably got the wrong board in the box if it says it should be reds.

hzfaq:
i didn't feel that bump. or shall i say, not as pronounced as the mx browns found on das keyboard.
the mx brown on the das for example, has a bump, hollow, past the activation point, whereas the brown on noppoo doesn't.
i guess this will be the first cherry mx brown switch board i'll keep.
