What's the best way to get this keyboard programed on Win7 64bit? Can it even be done over PS2?
The ChangeMe utility can't find it when doing autodetect. I know someone on here was wanting a RS232 to test out programing on a 64 bit OS, but I didn't see if he found one or was successful.

From what I have heard you have no choice but to use a 32 bit xp os for the programming. Once programmed, it will run on the win7 system without fail.

Yea, I remember reading that which I guess is nice. But the only problem with that is that I don't really have access to 32 bit machines. The college I go to has all 64 bit Win7 computers and I live pretty far away from home so it's a real hassle to re-program it.Ascaii wrote:From what I have heard you have no choice but to use a 32 bit xp os for the programming. Could I dual boot a 32 bit linux install to reprogram?

You could dual boot a small XP installation. As I said in the DT thread, that is the only reaason why I even have XP installed alongside the rest on my HTPC. You can have it autochoose the other OS unless you change the selected boot option during the time in boot up when it is displayed. The time frame can be adjusted as well.
In your main harddrive, there is a file named boot.ini which defines which options to show, which is ot be preselected, the time it will wait for you to make a choice before picking the deafult one tc.

(* Please note: PS/2 communication is not supported in 64-bit systems. PS/2 content can be programmed over RS232 communication instead.)Half-Saint wrote:There's a 64-bit version of Change Me..

I followed that too, and am still looking for a way to program Tipros without having to use WinXP x86.
IIRC programming using RS232 didn't really work well, but that might also be due to the cheap USB/RS232 Converter.
I also tried Wine, which didn't work, I tried a VM, which didn't work, and I tried ReactOS, where I couldn't even install the program.
A long time ago someone was willing to organize a Tipro Groupbuy, directly from Tipro. They could probably deliver an USB Controller.

Someone at GH offered me a USB controller, would it work on this board? (I'm not sure what I have so I took pics)RC-1140 wrote:I followed that too, and am still looking for a way to program Tipros without having to use WinXP x86.

Looking at your pics, another controller will be of no use because on the model you got, the controller is integrated with the PCB and cannot be swapped.
