Heavier keycaps

Has anyone tried making heavier key caps to reduce the clicky sound? A common complaint about clicky key keyboards is their sound. I noticed that if you press down the key switch itself, it doesn't make much noise. The key cap seems to behave like a speaker. What if you made the key cap heavier? You could you some silicone and fill in the area on the underside of the keycap. I will give it a try next time I pick up some silicone.

Metal caps tend to change the sound a bit. I also believe some of the appeal with Cherry's thicker caps stem from their changed sound, albeit much smaller than the change with metal caps.

Do note that in case of heavy caps, it may become necessary to switch the springs to stronger ones or else the actuation force will decrease.

If you put 14g, approximately the weight of the Feng Zinc v2.0 enter key, the MX-Blue doesn't even have enough force to get over the hump, on spring back... and Red doesn't go up all the way

Test for yourself with 3 nickles. MX Black / Green/ white/ clear have no problem.

The shift weighs even more, i'd assume.
