Seeing as prices on shipping has gone up significantly lately. I was wondering if there was interest in a group buy on orders from keypop.net?
I would have liked to run the GB myself, but seeing as I have to pay taxes and an import fee of around $29 on anything more than $14, it would make more sense if someone from another country run it.

Nice, they make profit with our designs!
I will ask them from whom they got the permission.
They even use my order-ID-names!!!!
LOD and AWESOME face where both first availabe in Round 3 and where both included because Ripster wanted them!

IIRC, there was also some debating about this, over at GH, when Keypop first opened. They have got some unique designs since then, though.

Sure it is SP, but we had to pay for the legends. They are even stupidly say limited edition. But I've got the right to re-run these in the same colors they offer.Gilgam wrote:it's a reseller from Signature plastics.
The inside of the caps and the molding mark on the face looks like SP signature.

Do SP even care who bought what legends?
We could just as easily buy keys straight from SP with some of keypops unique legends, no?

But if it costs some money to get some new design it would be nice from SP to ask for permission to reuse it no ?
Welcome to intellectual rights hysteria

I was hoping we could settle this privately over email...7bit wrote:Sure it is SP, but we had to pay for the legends. They are even stupidly say limited edition. But I've got the right to re-run these in the same colors they offer.Gilgam wrote:it's a reseller from Signature plastics.

As I stated in a reply to your email, I apologize if I offended you by reproducing these designs.
Just in case, when I ordered these, I reproduced the appropriate SVG files via online(both designs are not copyrighted) and only simply requested the designs be resized to the previous size they were from older group buys.
I repaid for both legend fees to be fair. Ripster is definitely ok with me reproducing them.
When I stated that they were limited edition it simply meant that our shop was not going to reproduce the color scheme design again. I didn't mean to imply that both designs were strictly exclusive to our own store.
You are more than entitled and free to reproduce either design as you'd like. We have absolutely no problem whatsoever with that.
Again, if you still feel that the reproduction of both designs was out of line, please let me know. If worst comes to worst we'll remove them from our store.
P.S. Yes all our keycaps are from Signature Plastics for those who are wondering. We do offer group buy pricing! Please let drop us a PM or email and we'll let you know the details!

The point is simply that it would be nice to mention the source for the stuff and not leave the impression these are your own design.
When Ripster told me I should put these into my group buy, he also told me to tell Signature Plastice they should only use these in other community group buys, but not for commercial resale.
However, I wait for the day when some commercial entity sells 6.25 or 7 units space bars of the SA-family, made with the tools we paid $7000 for.

No problem, we'll include the appropriate sources in our store.7bit wrote:The point is simply that it would be nice to mention the source for the stuff and not leave the impression these are your own design.
