I have some questions for any µTron users that might be floating around on deskthority.
1. Do you know if the µTron works with a Mac?
2. What are those large keys in the lower middle with the Japanese characters? The ones below Tab and Enter?
3. Where is the Windows key?
4. Can I just purchase this thing myself off Amazon.co.jp, or do I need to get myself a Japanese proxy?
Any information you can provide will help.

1. I don't know, I don't own a Mac.
2. Modifiers to access the Japanese characters.
3. Windows/Microsoft is the ENEMY of TRON!
4. I used a proxy, but this was a couple of years back. YMMV.

You might try just emailing personal-media.co.jp and asking them. IIRC it's an amazon sellers thing, not amazon warehousing it directly.4. Can I just purchase this thing myself off Amazon.co.jp, or do I need to get myself a Japanese proxy?

Ok thanks. I need to try a full Topre board before I think about purchasing this thing. I think I might really like the feel of Topre.

You don't want to use shipping through personal-media. Just tried to find the quote but it was a link to an invoice that was valid for 30 days. I remember it being a few hundred gbp though. Was cheaper for me to use tenso or smart imports.

It's a μTRON, not a uTRON. Sounds like what you really need is a Quiet Pro/Tactile Pro which has μ marked on the keyboard, along with all the other symbols that died out when the typewriter was introduced. Except "×", and "−" (minus sign) …prdlm2009 wrote:1. Do you know if the uTron works with a Mac?

I rediscovered a lot of forgotten signs (as … × ÷ − “ ” « » œ) when I started to use bépo layout. Thanks Unicode !

Yea, I know, I would write that if I knew how to enter that symbol. (a short time later after some Google). Option+m. µTron. Got it! I'm changing the title.Daniel Beardsmore wrote:It's a μTRON, not a uTRON.
