The MX-Board

I've made a simple PCB to connect 3 MX switches to my RaspbeerryPi, so I can use it to trigger certain scripts without having a display. Some people liked it and so I made a little preassembled package.

You can connect the PCB to any kind of device like an Arduino, BeagleBone, RaspberryPi, ...

I don't earn much money from this, it is simply a little toy project of mine. If you want one, see my tindie page:
https://www.tindie.com/products/f0086/mx-board/
If you want to build it yourself, see here: https://git.okoyono.de/aaron/mx-board

What do you think about the PCB and the idea in general?

First thing, Cherry is going to scream "Trademark Infringement!" if you start selling it. "MX-Board" is a keyboard line of theirs with three keyboard models. When I clicked this thread I thought it was going to be about them... because this thread is also outside the Workshop area. ;)

Your tiny keyboard might go head-to-head against TechKeys' business-card keyboard with built-in controller.

Palm's not around any more. You could call it the MX Treo! Some play on the number 3 ought to work.

We're much more of a keyboard community than an arduino etc. hobbyist community here, mind. So I'm not sure if you'll find much traction for this here. As neat an idea as it may be.

Are the keys hardcoded to anything or can be programmed?

There is no logic on-board, so the controller you use will determine the function.
It's a nice little board!

MX Treo is nice, thanks!

@amospalla: As chzel mentioned, there is no "logic" on this board except the pull-down resistors. You need to hook up to some IO pins.
