The last christmas, I treated myself a G80-1000HAE keyboard. Here they come the shots after cleaning it:

I discovered that the switches are different from MX switches:

I have not found any reference to this kind of switches at the wiki. Reading other "feeling" experiences, I would say that this switch is related with cherry MY switch because they seem to me more stiff than MX black. Also, this keyboard was manufacturated during same period MY switches were released. Could it be a kind of MY vintage?.

Another special thing is that the model number of this keyboard (G80-1000 HAE/10) does no correspond exactly to any number listed at the wiki (the closest one is G80-1000 HAE/13).

Any idea about these kind of switches?. I would take more photos if It were necesay.

They are the vintage MY switches with a black stem mentioned in the"Variants" section of the wiki MY article.

Those are the old style of Cherry MY switches, sometimes called black Cherry MY. They usually feel a lot nicer than the newer variants of MY, but they're still not a very nice switch.

It's very, very strange that the keyboard is labelled G80 while having MY switches. It should be labelled G81-1000HAE instead. Luckily those lovely Spanish doubleshots are fully MX compatible; you won't find a nicer set of Spanish keycaps anywhere.

The number at the end of the article number (/10 in this case) means very little. It's only the G80-1000HAE part that's important.

Thanks for your replies.
I have never used a keyboard with MY switches, butI dont like the feel of this MY variant switch at all. Between MY black and MX black, the last one would be my prefered option.

@photekq, I am in your side: I would say that those keycaps set the best keycap set that a spanish user can dress his keyboard. Nowdays, the possibility to find something better in spanish language tend to zero.

There is a label on the pcb that 1000HAE/10 can be read, but there is no mention to G80 or G81 model. Also I have read at the wiki that both cases are physically identical. But, is there any way to verify that that case correspond to that plate?. May be the hole for the XT-PC selector, serial number, dates, some signs between pcb-case,...

I only can imagine two cases: somebody (vendor) interchanged the cases or somebody (from cherry company) had a bad day. What case do you think is more reasonable?.

I made a video about these switches as it happens because of a kind donation by guk. I compared them to modern MY switches as well as MX blacks. Have a look if you're interested :) .
