I took out one of the spare XT assemblies from storage and decided to place it into Bigfoot case that I have. Now, I didn't ever test the PCB in that assembly (long story) and when I put everything together, I discovered that 5th column is not registering.
I took out the multimeter and measured voltage on different controller column pins relative to ground, and sure enough, other columns had voltage difference of 0.7V, and this one had 0.1V (or was it 0.07V and 0.01V, I'm not sure). I then scratched the pad of the top key in the column (numrow 4), checked for continuity with controller pin and sure enough it was there.
So, I guess this is a controller issue and this PCB is beyond salvaging, but I just wanted to check if anyone had similar experience and to confirm or disprove my hypothesis.

I can't answer your question, but with Lot_Lizard's project underway there is probably a good supply of spare XT parts available now for cheap.

Thanks. As luck would have it, I already have another spare PCB that I will use. I was just curious to see if anyone already had a similar problem and managed to fix it.
