Hey there guys,

So I stumbled across quite an odd keyboard yesterday while thrifting, an 'Alloy' board.

Image

Only external identifier was the logo on the top left , bottom is completely blank. I noticed the Cherry Doubleshots immediately, and quickly pulled a cap and was graced with MX Blacks. Also pulled the spacebar and it has an MX Tactile Grey switch.

I ended up taking it apart, and was able to find a model number: G80-0693/d

The layout is super funky, including the Big Ass Enter which can easily be converted to ISO by the switch position. The board itself is super clean, only issues I've seen are a few scratches on the 0 and . key on the numpad. I also grabbed some shots of the chips along the top.

I was unable to find any information regarding this model online, so I was hoping maybe someone here has more info. If anyone wants/needs pics of the switches, caps, etc. let me know.

Cheers!

Really neat find! I've never personally found a cherry board before, only alot of alps stuff. Always hoping I'll stumble upon something this cool!

Cherry G80-0693/d surely? Those old keyboards were generally G80-0nnn.

Cool, very nice find :) . The layout is pretty common though, it's a standard AT layout :) .

A tactile grey switch on a linear keyboard? That's odd, maybe they had an excess of them at the time.

Pretty epic find. Plate mounted Cherry made keyboards are rare as hell!

That's right, for anyone like me who can only really appreciate Cherry MX when plate mounted have a look out for these keyboards that came with vintage portable computers if you don't mind the layout:

Yeah I had someone else mention the same to me. I only assumed it was a U by the sticker, and after looking into it, it makes a lot more sense to be a 0. Updated my posts :)
