How rare is this exactly?

Need some more pics Looks to be in great condition, the 5251 layout is quite nice -- ISO Return and a split right Shift, with a handy compact tenkey.

If only they had two modifiers to the left of the Spacebar, would really be killer on modern systems.

I am going to use this to absorb the exact dimensions of the mechanisms to make a cherry compatible design switch. Will have capacitive and contact switch variants.

I also happen to have two spare IBM selectrics which I got at a thrift store for a small combined price of $8 AUD. I'll replace some of the keycaps that are alien to me using the selectric 1's caps probs.

Careful cleaning the front printed keycaps, the print will come off with just soap and water. I recommend cleaning around the text not ever rubbing it.

Edit: From the looks of it, someone already cleaned it.

Hmmm.... I haven't seen even the slightest trace of anything on the keys, and where there are, they seem to be filled in engraved with some form of plastic that seems to have dissolved on a single key lol

Congrats. These are pretty rare. Welcome to the club.AFAIK the Beamfoot club is you and me for now but some more of these will show up for sure. I'm somewhat suprised hammlergammler sold it to you but I know you can appreciate it! Here's mine still unrestored:

The keys (7, 8, 4, 5, 1, 2, and 0) all have front printing on them. Its delicate and comes off easy when rubbed. All the text on top of the keys is double shot from what I can tell from looking at it and my own keyboard so the rest of the keys can be cleaned normally.
