Okay, so around 3 months ago, I got a Cherry G81-3000HAD in the flea market, and i didn't really know if my keyboard was a MY or MX because it said in the wiki that G81's are MY switches, but my one isn't MY. There are black vintage switches instead. I thought this was strange, so i hopped on google to see what the deal is, And i found a post on reddit with the exact same issue. It says G81, but it's a MX.
Can someone explain this? Is it really a misprint?!
What is with the cherry G81 misprints?

They're extremely rare, I've only seen a handful crop up myself out of thousands of G80/G81s. I'm sure you're correct, but are you sure they aren't the black MY Type 1 switches?

Just in addition to photekq's post,
here's the wiki entry for the black MY switches, featuring MY Type 1 which indeed can be mistaken for an MX switch:

I thought myself too! But after looking at the pictures AND Chyrosan22's review of the G80-3000 which indeed has the MX switches, the switches on my keyboard are actually the MX black switches.kbdfr wrote: 08 Aug 2020, 07:48 Just in addition to photekq's post,

So, i would suggest that this is a factory error of some sort?

The cases are interchangeable, so that may have been the case here.
Oh yea, i forgot about that option. I even opened the keyboard and it was really dirty, gave it a clean but didn't seem to notice anything weird. The keyboard works, which is really nice as well.Findecanor wrote: 08 Aug 2020, 15:32 The cases are interchangeable, so that may have been the case here.

I had one G81 3000 HAD with black MX switches.
The FCCID on the left contained G80-3000.
What is the FCCID on yours?
