Help with New Model F77 on a MAC — Cmd not working right

I just received my new model F77 keyboard and am having trouble the Command keys.

I swapped the Command and Option in System Prefs, as well as using Karibiner-Elements (I used both or just one). The swap works — but every few minutes command reverts back to Option. So if I am switching between applications, for example, using Command-Tab it suddenly reverts to just Tab, which messes everything up. Instead of Cmd-A I get "a" typed. It sucks. I can't work like this, so I can't use the keyboard right now, unfortunately. After waiting for over 3 years I am disappointed.

I know I should maybe remap the keyboard (and flash the firmware) but I haven't figured out how to do this yet. I was hoping to just use Karibiner, since I've used that with my other Cherry keyboards without any trouble.

Anyone else having this problem? :?: :(

Thanks!

I personally would recommend against complicating things with Karibiner-Elements… I'd completely uninstall it and just use System Prefs "Modifier Keys…"

I've never seen the System Prefs swapping approach not work, when used in isolation.

That said, the "right" way to swap the keys would be to reprogram the keyboard. There's a video on Ellipse's website that explains how to do that, but it's a little involved.

Okay, thanks. As I mentioned, I have not had this problem with any of my 4 other keyboards.
So I'll have to figure out how to reprogram the keyboard, since I normally use Karibiner for swapping some other keys...
