WASD Keyboards

Does purchasing a WASD keyboard make me a sellout? Newfag? Noob? Idiot?
I'd love to get a nice Tipro, Access-IS, or Cherry board with some reprogrammable keys. But in my humble opinion, the search for the perfect one of these boards is a painful process. Maybe I find this is the case as I am more comfortable shopping for IBM boards than Cherry boards. But back to the main topic: WASD Keyboards.
They have a great interface that lets you make your own customized keys, you pick the switches, your board is shipped for a decent price. I will admit, their keys from what I have seen look to be of very poor quality.
What is your opinion?

I have a WASD, and it's pretty nice. It's a Costar 'board so it's not all that dissimilar to a Filco. Their caps are nice as I like the engraved ones they have. Overall, I prefer the styling of Filcos, but you won't be disappointed in WASD.

I heard from various people WASD keyboards are similar in quality to Filcos.
Both are made by Costar.
Right now, I am typing on WASD keycaps. Well, they are blank so I can't say anything about fading legends.
They are same profile as Filco. To me, looking at the bottoms, they seem to be exact the same. Same looks, same inscription on the bottom (same font, same placement).
If you need any further information I try my best to answer. Also photos if you want them.

EXACT same moulds are used for the WASD keys as Filco.
People whine about the Filco keys but there are a lot of whiny people on the Internet these days.
I think their engraved keys aren't QUITE as nice but the customisation service is the best reason to use WASD.
Just don't pick the Arial font. Just don't.
Somebody post in his Subforum to use the Reddit Font instead, Rounded VAG!

I guess I am just frustrated. I've been trying to get my hands on a few decent Cherry switch boards recently. Surprisingly, the keyboards I got in the 4 pallet dig were mostly IBM Model M's (approx 15 of them, now cleaned, and slowly going to be sold) FK-2001's and Chincony/Monterry. I got two RJ-11 terminal boards with cherry mx but had to get rid of the boards. I got a similar brand "Medic 400" with PS/2 interface but it was not functional. I harvested all of the keycaps but the boards proved to be useless. I hate throwing away boards but there were a bunch that I just had to say goodbye to.
And on a second note, thanks! Just trying to expand the collection I suppose. If only I had Ripsters secret key whitening method I'd be restoring them left and right. Sadly he has not informed me where he posted it. Something to do with simple green perhaps?
Most of the Tipro's have a bit of a different layout from ANSI and I am not a huge fan of the Return key resting on two switches (really prefer one with stabilizer). My perfect keyboard I am trying to buy has:
* USB Interface
* Cherry MX Switches
* US ANSI Layout
* Full keyboard on bottom
* 2-3 rows of programmable keys on top
7bit I didn't know that the round 4 replacements is currently going on, I thought it ended! I will take a look at it and submit an order soon enough!

What about your method you mentioned with simple green? Where it didn't require any of these complex processes or ingredients (especially the UV light)? I saw you mention that in a post once.

Finish it quick! I need a simpler way that doesn't involve buying a $13 bag of xanthan gum (among other ingredients) from the hipsters at Whole Foods!

I think what you want is something like a 9009 or whatever they're called?
Some cherry battleship basically. Like
this G80-2100 or
this G80-2510 or
this G80-2550. I'm only going by the pictures so there may be many more but I have no clue.
This G80-9013 phone board has some extra keys but I doubt you can easily map them. But it can be used as a phone so that has to count for something. :p
Ah...here's the 9009. It's actually a
G80-9009HAU and quite a beauty. And a good addition to any collection. Just try to buy one on taobao. Who cares if it is frankensteined?
When you've got one just use Soarer's adapter to do any programming you want. Still have to try that out myself but should work pretty well.

One of those reuters boards is going to be ordered... Now if only I could figure out how to order one from this poorly translated site.
