Aston Motif character generator (TV) keyboard

Anyone had any experience salvaging/modding keyboards like these?

Seems a little smaller than the Aydin Controls behemoth, and this example is pretty grubby, too. What's the consensus on these special-purpose boards, interesting if you could get one for free?

I have one of these...vintage MX blacks, thin SP doubleshots. The windowed caps are triple shot.

Ah yes, that one was nice. Similar stuff in the states, probably a lot of Signature Plastics customers.
