What does anyone know about wangs?

Take [wiki]Wang 725[/wiki] — the prefix "725-" covers Key Tronic, Alps and Costar keyboards, as well as toner cartridges and DAT tapes.

I don't suppose that anyone here understands Wang part/model numbers?

The keyboards I've found so far have part and/or model numbers beginning with 723, 724 and 725, and these numbers don't seem to bear any relationship between manufacturer. For example, there are Key Tronic switch 723 and 725 keyboards, while there are three completely different case designs within 725 (classic Wang, Alps Bigfoot, and generic Costar).

If it helps, I have 2 identical Wang Model 724. Both made in the US with orange Alps, large case, 16 function keys etc. I will get some photos up later.

I did have another Wang, that I think was called model 725, with Keytronic switches, and a more-terminal like layout (function keys on LSH, four cursor keys) and a very ugly enter key with a big tab on it.

Interesting. Hopefully webwit still remembers what that was.

Also, that page has a much clearer photo of a switch that may be an example of one of the rarest Alps switches on the planet: [wiki]Alps SKCM Green[/wiki]

So far, it has never been confirmed to exist outside the Alps catalogue. The force curve and specifications are not like other Alps SKCL/SKCM switches (it's a lot more like that of a rubber dome), and it remains a mystery as to what is inside of it. That stupidly expensive Korean "DOKIU SAVER" custom keyboard on eBay had some switches of that same darker and more saturated shade of green, with no LED holes, alongside regular linear greens:

Whether they're the known SKCM Green, an unknown SKCM Green, or a white switch dyed green with the click leaf removed, is a mystery. The shade of green is also unknown, only that they're green.
