Introduction

I'm SharktasticA, some guy from Wales, UK. I typically go by "Admiral Shark" in this hobby. By hobby, I'm interested in IBM keyboards and author and maintain a website dedicated to preserving information on them. By profession, I'm a CompSci research student, qualified game developer and full-stack web developer.

My resources

  • Admiral Shark's Keyboard - my passion project to research, review and preserve information on IBM, Lexmark, Unicomp, Toshiba Retail and Lenovo keyboards for desktop PCs, ThinkPads, point of sale machines, mainframes and terminals. In addition to what's listed below, my site hosts my articles, topics of interest (themed data collections), guides and photos of my collection.
  • Keyboard Part Number Database - the largest repository of per-part number IBM and family keyboard data on the internet made available for research, reference and posterity. The database is built upon data collected from official IBM and company documents and manuals, past eBay and other auction website listings, other repositories like deskthority wiki, and community submissions.
  • Keyboard Connections topic - compilation of diagrams and information on IBM keyboard connectivity, including female socket pinouts, keyboard cable header pinouts, modular cable end-to-end mappings, cable wire colour coding, and keyboard cable header to converter (eg, Soarer's) mappings.
  • Keyboard Icons Gallery - my (mostly IBM related) keyboard pixel art I originally created for use on forum signatures but now also use throughout my site.
  • Shark's Wiki - my own personal wiki on IBM and family keyboards, their history, the technology they employ, and the companies themselves. Currently a preview/WIP.
