Case Material Questions

So I've been planning on milling a case for a new custom I'm making, and I was wondering what the best material to make it out of would be. I am leaning towards using varnished wood, as that seems very solid and durable, but I am not sure what that will do to the sound. I really don't want to use pl...

Re: Alps Lubricant FOUND!

I have some G501 coming in the mail. I am going to have a control switch, a switch where I apply new lube, and a switch where I chemically age the lube to get it closer to what we would expect Alps to feel like today. Threebond and I are currently trying to track down the spec sheet for TB2581P so t...

Re: Alps Lubricant FOUND!

I think we may have found a variant of it still in production. Shin Etsu makes a very similar silicone based lube called G501, which is JIS spec silicone grease. I've ordered a sample, which should be here in a few days. I'll update this post when it arrives.

Re: Alps Lubricant FOUND!

It would be odd for Alps to recommend a lubricant that appears to no longer be made. I think it's the real deal.

Alps Lubricant FOUND!

Earlier today, on the r/mk discord, someone posted a screenshot of an email from Alps. The email response ways that the lubricant used on the SKCM/SKCL was TB2581P, made by Threebond. I confirmed this by emailing them myself. While this lubricant is not listed on Threebond's website, I have contacte...

Weird 911 dispatcher board

Recently found this while browsing mechmarket. Seller had a bunch, around 20, sadly didn't manage to secure one before they ran out. Is there any information on this? As far as I can tell it had vint blacks, and was made by a company called Access computers. What protocol would it use, if I were to ...

Also, what are you planning to do with the key caps? They won't work on a model M.
They're Alps mount.

WTB: US-PA IBM 5576 Keyboard Keycaps

Hello, I am incredibly partial to the keycaps on this IBM 5576 but am struggling to find it on any website to purchase it. If someone would like to offer up either the whole board or just the keycaps for purchase then that would be very helpful. A picture of the keyboard can be found at this thread:...

WTB - Model M keycaps

I just need a few caps to replace some missing ones on my silver badge. I am missing the alt, numpad delete, quote, numpad enter, and 0 key. Willing to pay 1.50 per cap.

WTB - Whatever this thing is

A while ago I found someone on Reddit selling a lot for 35$, sadly I missed out and I can’t find any other information about this other than the Reddit post. Willing to trade or PayPal.

Re: [Interest Check] FK-5001/9000 calculator replacement

Offline doesn't matter that much to me, so whatever works best for you.
Same with the case mod, it would be nice not to but i don't care either way.
I use one of the older 5001 variants with the separate toggle buttons, having support for that is a must for me to buy it.

It's also weird that there's a macro key without macro functionality. I guess I just have another backslash now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Programmable Keys on the Focus 5001

I recently acquired an FK 5001, and I'm trying to decipher how to program the keys to do macros and the sort. Can I get a link to a manual or a guide of some sort that explains it in greater detail?

[H] Razer Blackwidow Elite [W] Focus FK-5001 Variant B

Looking to start off my collection with some Alps battle cruisers. The keyboard can be in any physical condition, I can retro brighten it and clean it, but the calculator screen must be functioning. Only keeb I own atm besides my work 60% is a blackwidow chroma with Razer greens. It's in very good c...
