Can you explain that for the non-"ebay kids"? I don't get it.
This ad (and similar ones) is constantly appearing on ebay

Very clean and professional work! The cherry mount switches are definitely an upgrade and give him lots of options for keycaps in the future.

I'm glad your reverse engineering of the plate measurements worked out the first time. Plate mistakes can get expensive quickly!

Re: Sejin EAT-1010 renovate

Fixed image links for you :) I like the Futaba switch. So I studied a lot about this switch, and I got a lot of knowledge. A month ago, I got a request for a keyboard modification. He's been using the EAT-1010 for a long time, and over time, some switches started to break. And he wanted to use usb i...

Yes, "int" just means that those pins can be used for interrupts.

Yeah, sorry for the tame photos. I wanted to take this further, in general, to show more of the inside of the board. But I'm at the point where I have so many disassembled boards in my living room that I just can't manage one more. Many more pictures to come (and a workshop thread) once I wrap a cou...

Re: Converting fujitsu leaf spring keyboard

From a little bit of research I've been doing it looks like the most common way of converting fujitsu leaf spring boards is by handwire, but I was thinking about reaching out to the QMK people/snacksthecat to see if we could figure out how to convert it with its native protocol, although it might b...

@PancakeMSTR

Have you tried different usb cable(s)? Are you using a usb hub? These are a few things that have tripped me up in the past with stuff like this.

No clue if these will actually help but wanted to share my experience. I will try to think of other things as well.

Re: Repair Services for vintage Alps boards

Are you willing to open the keyboard up? Try to see if the non-working switches are all connected as either a row or a column. I had this same keyboard and had a similar problem with a handful of keys not working. It turned out to be a dead diode of all things. To repair it, I desoldered the diode t...

Keyboard testing software?

I wish I had a good way to test keyboards after remapping. I pretty much depend on the Switch Hitter software that Elite Keyboards put out a long time back. https://i.imgur.com/sAXlQBp.png Today I came across this program which looks interesting as well. I might give this one a go. https://github.co...

WTB weird / interesting / odd keyboard

I'm looking for some sort of vintage board that I'd classify as obscure and interesting. I don't have any strict criteria but I'll list off some bullet points for what's going through my mind. None of these are must-have aspects, just some clues. Old[ish] Chunkier/bulkier than necessary Obscure swit...

If it was the 1-eyed space invaders, I'd ask you to keep it (someone recently reached out to me looking for those switches). Keyboard uses 2-eyed space invaders so not the rare type I guess? I wildly prefer the 2-eyed space invaders. They feel much smoother to me. Never had a clean board to compare...
