If you have one of those keyboards which works with a passive USB-to-PS/2 adapter then you could do it. The keyboard will fail to detect a USB host and switch to PS/2, after which it will communicate with Soarer's converter.

My decades-old 50W Weller soldering station is locked at 370°C and works sufficiently well for normal PCBs and joining wires. Only big solder pads ( > 2 cm²), grounding planes (basically a soldering pad spread out over the entire PCB) or thick wires form a problem.

Still voting for the UHK team, even if it won't matter so much anymore.
The keyboard and its firmware are brilliant, so far the only complaints I have is that the extra mouse modules aren't there yet, and that it lacks an extra key on the bottom right where now a big 2.25u button sits.

I still have high hope for the UHKB, however, when I click on "Trackpoint module", it is written in its description:
"This item is under development, and we don't have a solid ETA yet. Please subscribe to our blog or newsletter, and be part of the development process."
But it allows me to add that ...

I have watched Lucar's video (https://youtu.be/wPOe0Pmd3gs) several times, but am wondering if there is a set of systematic instructions on how to do this. Some of processes in the video are not quite clear, but it is indeed an outstanding video.

Random keypresses from IBM Model F XT with Soarer's
So here's something which has been bothering me for ages: I've got a Teensy with my favourite Soarer Converter XT shortcuts in it which is completely built into the keyboard.

The only advantage I would see is that the plates can be slid together without the need for any clamps as now there is nothing resisting it (the video author didn't know about the clamps or the fact that you should NEVER pull out the spacebar).

My XT keyboard had the label "Berg" on the connector, but that won't help much seeing how these connectors are nowadays made by multiple manufacturers. I've lucked out before by coming across a slightly larger box connector where I could cut off a few pins.

Most of the PCB is covered throughout with solder mask. Any kind of rag should do as long as it's not steel wool.

Is this a Teensy++ as the card on your desk seems to imply?
I was thinking about how you've connected PD6 to the keyboard. I have had trouble with that , so you'd better use another port because it cannot be properly read.
